Isolated indigenous populations and initial contact
Within the framework of support provided to Ministry of Culture , we reinforce the protection of the protected areas considered home to indigenous population in situations of isolation or initial contact. These are some of the last human populations considered to maintain their “original state of being” in modern times and that deserve the opportunity to decide for themselves in what manner to integrate into society without external persons or entities deciding on their behalf.
ISOLATED INDIGENOUS POPULATIONS AND INITIAL CONTACT PROJECTS
Purus - Manu Conservation Corridor
The Purus - manu Conservation Corridor Project provides long-term support for the preservation of biodiversity on behalf of the local communities and indigenous groups living in voluntary isolation that inhabit the region.
The FZS Peru seeks to support, strengthen and implement activities for the effective management of the protected areas.
